1/24/15 Harvested cabbage. About size of softballs. Carrots, 1st planting, now about 4 to 6 inches. 1/25/15 Planted 145 Yellow Granex onion sets 3 inches apart to thin to 6 inches for green onions, 57 Red Hamburger onion sets 4 inches apart, thin to 8 inches for shallots. Arrived 1/23 via 3 day ship from Browns Onion Farm in Texas. Ordered 3 bundles. Trimmed peach tree back. It has been blooming, since 1st of January and now starting to leaf out. 2/06/15 Ordered 2 grafted Big Beef Hybrid Tomato plants, General Lee Cucumber seeds from Totally Tomatoes. Ordered green and yellow bean, picling cuke, corn seeds from Reimer Seed. Will get all pepper plants loccaly and plant in new planters on patio. 02/16/15 Received seed potatoes today. All about the size of large egg. Several eyes per potato.Temps this week to be down to low 20's. Sunday the 22nd is to be 75 in the afternoon. Will plant Sunday. 02/21/15 Planted 30 potato starter seed trench style 6in deep. Weather 70 and partly cloudy. Left trenches bare to keep soil warmer, covering seed about 3 to 4 in. Will mound as growth dictates. Will cover with tree leaf mulch from other beds if temps dictate. 03/14/15 All 30 potato starts are up. Temps near 80. Planted Owari Satsuma Tangerine tree from Just Fruits and Exotics. 2 year old grafted tree about 3 ft tall. 04/16/15 Planted pepper plants in earth boxes. 6 grn bells, 6 jalapena, 2 yellow banana. Tomatoes on the way. 04/19/15 Planted the 2 big beef grafted tomato plants, 1 row yellow beans, 3 rows contender green beans, 5 rows of 12 each gotta have it corn. 1 red bell pepper, 1 yellow bell pepper. 05/20/15 Started pulling onions as they are topping over. Smaller this year in this bed but still good. Pulled up first 2 potato plants as they are also topping over. 1 or 2 medium size with 3 smaller average each plant. Out of town this weekend so will harvest all spuds and onions next week. Hope to have Sweet Potato plants by then. All corn and beans up about a foot. Tomatoes and all peppers doing very well. No rain so far this month and low 90's. Watering with rain barrels and drip for 30 minutes as neccessary. 05/30/15 Harvested potatoes. Average medium to small. 4 or 5 to plant. Will plant sweet potatoes when they arrive. Harvested all onions. Not very big this year but good flavor. Blueberries coming on now some have plumped up. Birds or squirrels beating me to harvest. Picked about a quart.
