Plan Notes
Spinish overwintered from fall planting (early crisp stuff) :-)... 3/16 rabbit manured gardens. 3scoops x $15, two wheelbarrow loads per garden,,, 3/17 Ice storm :-(....... 3/20 planted radishes, leaf lettuce mix, 150 leaks , (2pots, grow lights from seed),some will overwinter, beets ( early makes supper tender) :-),,..... 3/23 planted 350 scallions (16 rowsx22), started eggplant seeds indoors under growlights...... 3/30 planted one row red romain sets from Lows....... 4/6 planted carrots (one row each)...and green towers roamain lettuce (two rows)....... 4/13 First spinish harvest from fall planting (10 one gallon bags).... 4/15 hard freeze (last average frost date).... 4/24 All warm season seeds planted and sets in..... 5/2 Light Frost (37 ) no damage.... now havesting a complete salade: radishes, Red Roamaine Lettuce (from sets), green onion, spinish still going strong..... NOTES:Butternut> Frisco Hybrid (75%) germination,,, carrot> nelson hybrid(30%)gernimation...... NOTES: romane sets from wall mart was the way to go, produced early with excellent quality,.. NOTES: Tomatoes: Beefsteak>underperformed and tasteless,... Better Boy> flavorfull,outperformed and uniform...Sun Sugar (yellow cherry) always produces and sweet and good..... NOTES: eggplant, zucchini (yellow & eigth ball) distroyed by squash bettles.. will try in fall....... NOETS: Cantaloupe>ambrosia from park seed, disapointed, very sweet but lost too much melon flavor would have been better satified with standard, will not try Parks ambrosia again... FALL PLANTING: 8/24/14, still hot, rains starting..... replanted both zucchini's, early corn verity from wallmart 68 days, carrot >tendermax, spinish, swish chard
