Our Garden Planner can produce a personalized calendar of when to sow, plant and harvest for your area.

Water often to keep the soil constantly moist.

Harvest when the heads reach the size you want. In fall, cut heads high, leaving the base of the plant intact. Small heads will often regrow from the stub.

Slugs can be a problem. Trap them with beer traps, hand pick them in rainy weather, or spray them with caffeinated coffee.
